"I believe there is not a "one size fits all" approach to speech and feeding therapy to see progress. It is my belief that through evidence-based practices, building relationships, and collaborating with my clients and their families, we can work together to create an individualized plan that works for you, your goals, and as a result, our success together. Most importantly, I believe in the strength of advocacy both for my clients and from my clients. Your voice matters to me!"
About
Jessica Nyquist, MA, CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Hello! My name is Jessica and I am the owner and provider at Every Voice Matters Speech and Feeding Therapy, LLC. I'm so glad you're here!
About Me: I live in Hudson, WI and enjoy hiking, playing volleyball, and catching up on the newest mystery books. I also enjoy spending time with our rescue dog, Millie!
My Experience: I spent four years working in a federal setting IV education setting, where I worked with students from Kindergarten through age 22 with a range of communication and behavioral disorders. I also have experience working with Birth - 18 as an inpatient SLP at a Childern's Hospital, as well as adults through my experience in outpatient clinical and nursing home settings. In addition to working with a variety of articulation/motor speech, language, fluency, feeding/swalllowing, and social communication disorders, I also have experience working with the following diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Other Health Disabilities, Learning Disability, Developmental Delay, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Cleft Palate, Cerebral Palsy, Dementia, Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Huntington's, Parkinson's, Dysphagia, and Failure to Thrive.
What Sets me Apart?: I enjoy and feel confident in evaluating and treating clients of all ages with a variety of communication disorders, meaning there are no limitations on who can receive care. In addition, due to my experience in federal IV education settings, behavior concerns are not new to me and my therapy process. I have found that often times families have difficulty seeking outpatient care, due to behavioral concerns. It is my belief that often times behavioral outbursts are a direct result of communication breakdowns and can often be improved by identifying these communication deficits and working together as a team to improve not only the effectiveness of a client's communication, but often behavioral patterns as well. Let's collaborate as a team and see what we can accomplish! I look forward to working with each and every one of you.
